Soup tureen and tray, in fine pewter, stamped on the bottom with hallmarks of a natural rose and a helmet monogrammed "LH" for Louis Houzeaux.
Houzeaux was a French pewter sculptor of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This soup tureen has delicately chiseled scroll handles decorated with masks. Its lid is topped with a Louis XVI pine cone finial resting on a stylized maple leaf. The catfish feet are also beautifully crafted. The oval tray has two handles in the same spirit.
Testimony of the art of living of yesteryear, this beautiful tureen will carefully decorate your table.
