This cross decorated with remarkable micro-mosaic work in the style of Castellani offers several views, each illustrating an emblematic basilica of Christianity in Rome.

Above, the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome, reputed to be built on the tomb of the saint. On the right, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major (the oldest Roman church dedicated to the Virgin), on the left, the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran, cathedral church of the Bishop of Rome, namely, the Pope and, below, the basilica of Saint-Paul-hors-les-murs, reputed to be built on the tomb of Saint Paul. In the center of the cross, two doves of the Holy Spirit and, in the middle of the mast, a Chrism. These micro-mosaics in excellent condition are set on a silver metal cross. The whole thing is part of the Grand Tour.
