    Beautiful Louis XVI commode stamped Magnien, inlaid with precious woods and topped with a magnificent and thick Breche d'Alep de Thonolet marble, with cut sides and a throat.
    Claude-Mathieu Magnien (1741-1829) was a famous Parisian cabinetmaker. Master in 1771, he worked successfully until the Empire. Towards the end of the reign of Louis XVI, he made furniture for the Crown.
    This chest of drawers has three drawers whose fronts present in the center a veneer of rosewood in four leaves, in butterfly wings. This composition is surrounded by a wide net of alternating rectangles of lemon and ebony. Around it, a frame in rosewood positioned in a vertical thread is delimited by a net of lemon tree and a band of violet wood.
    These drawers open thanks to "ring" handles with macaron. These are in chiseled bronze as the entries of lock in the center, topped by a knot Louis XVI. The original locks are in perfect working order and accompanied by later bronze keys.
    This piece of furniture is equipped with dust covers, the sides and bottoms of drawers are in oak.
    This chest of drawers is equipped with stiles with cut sides, inlaid in alternating fillets of lemon and ebony. On top, beautiful bronze falls adorn the uprights which end in slightly curved feet and a carved bronze shoe.
    The sides have a large open book veneer of rosewood.
