Painting dating from around 1900 depicting a woman in front of a boat, with a thatched-roof village on the riverbank in the background. According to the former owner, it represents a village on the banks of the Aven River in Finistère, the river that gave its name to Pont-Aven, a town rich in its artistic past, associated with artists such as Gauguin and Maurice Bernard.

On the back is the original label from the Grands Magasins du Louvre department store in Paris and its number, 290.
The frame is recent and has a small chip in the upper left corner.
The canvas alone measures 55cm x 38cm.
