Pair of vases in reverse enamel.
Appeared at the end of the 19th century in the province of Satsuma in southern Japan, this porcelain is characterized by its ivory background and a multitude of colorful decorations in shades of mainly ocher, embellished with gilt bronze.
This pair of vases is the perfect example, taking up all the criteria of authenticity of Satsuma vases.
On the body, there is a representation of samurais at the edge of a lake, not far from a pagoda, sitting on the ground.
The neck is short, covered with abstract decorations and circled crosses. The foot is also covered with small spirals.
These brightly colored vases will bring much needed warmth to your home decor.
