Sèvres Porcelain Vase – Powder Blue Ground and Gold Decoration – Late 19th Century (circa 1886)

An elegant hard-paste porcelain vase from the prestigious Sèvres National Manufactory, dating from the late 19th century, around 1886.

Ovoid in shape with a high shoulder and cylindrical neck, this piece features a refined decoration on a powder blue ground, characteristic of Sèvres production from this period. The surface is enlivened by a nuanced speckled effect, lending depth and subtlety to the color.

The neck is adorned with a finely executed neoclassical gilt frieze, composed of stylized repeating motifs, framed by gold lines. The base is also highlighted by a double gold line, bringing balance and elegance to the whole.

The quality of the gilding and the fineness of the glaze testify to the expertise of the manufactory at this time.

Marks on the reverse: Sèvres seal in red with the date 1886, as well as workshop marks and numbering incised into the clay.
