Bronze with golden brown patina representing Louis Pasteur, the famous French scientist, by sculptor Edouard Drouot (1859 - 1945), whose signature can be found on the back.
A student at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, then a member of the Salon des Artistes Français, he notably received an honorable mention at the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
His prestigious Subject, decorated with the Legion of Honor, revolutionized Modern Medicine with his many discoveries, including the development of the Rabies Vaccine, his research on infectious diseases, or his work on fermentation, which will lead to to the development of the “Pasteurization” process.
He is here represented in the form of a Bust, resting on a book, Symbol of his Knowledge. Note the presence of another signature on it, "H. Truci", which surely collaborated in the conception of the work. A snake, finely executed, surrounds it, in reference to his famous vaccine invention. The Artist has been able to translate Determination and Intelligence into the eyes of the Seeker.
The set rests on a recessed marble base, sea green color.
This Bronze will obviously make an ideal gift for any scientist, but it will also appeal to fans of our History and the great figures who have marked it.
