Pair of Louis XVI period bergère armchairs, in molded, carved, and gilded wood, in a gondola shape. The armrest supports are molded consoles with fluted and reeded detailing. The four tapered legs with a round cross-section are also decorated with fluted and reeded detailing, as well as rings and friezes of stylized leaves, and connecting blocks beneath the armrest console.
The gilding has been restored. The upholstery has been completely reupholstered by our workshops with fabric from the Lelièvre company in Paris.
Inventory numbers 3077 and 3078 are inscribed under the rear rail.
It is quite rare to find this type of chair in pairs and in such good condition. Gilded wood remains a must for lovers of 18th-century furniture.
