GILT BRONZE EMPIRE LEVAFSEUR CLOCK IN PARIS RESTORING SAPHO A PHAON
Depicting the Greek poetess in foot
Holding a lyre on a rectangular post where a flaming quiver, a laurel wreath and a parchment marked "Sapho à Phaon" rest.
On the other side, a vase decorated with a pomegranate rests on a column decorated with circular moons.
The pillar is decorated with wreaths of flowers in applique. It hosts a circular enamelled disc, graduated for the minutes with the hours in Roman numerals.
The rectangular base decorated with a lyre and interlacing foliage rests on four feet.
