Antique 20th century Art Deco style Tiffany box in 14 karat gold, rectangular in shape, hinged clasp set with baguette diamonds, the red box is partially decorated with black enamel. The inside of the cover is set with a mirror and contains a removable lipstick holder. Hallmarked in 14 karat gold (standard 585), Make ET for Tiffany & Co, later retailed by CARTIER, the box dates from the 1920s. It is a stunning example of the first Art Deco piece made by American retailers from World famous and comparable pieces were presented at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs à Industriels Modernes (Paris, 1925), which marked the culmination of the first phase of Art Deco. These iconic pieces are very valuable and sought after by collectors and fashion conscious.
