    Hemp or tobacco mortar representing a kneeling female figure. The arms are along the torso and the hands surround a slightly prominent navel. Only a necklace hanging between the breasts dresses the upper body. She wears a skirt on which is traced a check pattern. The face is thin, the eyes are half closed and the expression is serene. The head is surmounted by a container used as a mortar.
    The sculpture is fine and the overall look is very balanced.
    First part of the 20th century.
    Wood with a beautiful brown patina.
    Small holes at the level of the skirt and behind the head certainly due to a removal to keep some power of the statuette with oneself. The lid of the mortar is missing.
