This all-solid camphor trunk features a single-plank top with brass reinforcements in each corner. On the right-hand side of the lid, an insert reinforces the plank.
The front, sides and back are made of a single seamless plank, and each corner is dovetailed with brass reinforcement strips.
The front lid is fitted with a brass pull handle for opening. The box has an original lock and key in perfect working order.
The sides are fitted with brass carrying handles.
Inside, there's a spacious storage area and a compartment with lid on the right-hand side. A folding compass on the knee holds the lid in the open position.
This chest, used in the 19th century to carry the personal effects of naval officers, will delight you with its timeless color and design.
