Mahogany pedestal table, Art Deco, attributed to the famous French designer and decorator Jules-Emile Leleu (1883-1961). Decorated as an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, Leleu is known for having furnished furniture for large French liners and administrative buildings around the world.
This circular pedestal table has a vertical veneer belt.
The recessed top forms a right angle.
The underside is slightly molded and blackened.
The "so-called cruciform" shaft is made up of four elements joined together at a setback, forming columns, whose facades are half-round.
The set rests on a base, in the shape of a four-leaf clover, set with a chrome metal ring.
This sober but nevertheless atypical style pedestal table will appeal to lovers of Leleu creations.
