Baguès was created in 1840 in Auvergne by Noël Baguès. The company then specialized in the creation and manufacture of liturgical bronzes. With the generalization of electricity, Baguès embarked on lighting bronzes in 1860 with success. At the start of the 20th century, chandeliers were exported to London, Brussels, New York, Rome and even Cairo. In the 1920s, Baguès created his own models in fine ironwork: it was the birth of the collection with characteristic leaves and parrots.
