(Active in the years 1910/1930)
Oil on panel
Signed and dated lower right "Jean Glénat / 1912"
27 x 35 cm (39 x 44 cm with the frame)
Beautiful carved wooden frame

Originally from the Vosges, Jean Glénat was a painter and sculptor but also a curator at the Museum of Antiquities and Muslim Art in Algiers in the years 1910 to 1930.
Our painting represents a pretty Algerian landscape, probably near Algiers, with a beautiful light. We see a caravan and the parade of its many characters, testimony to the life of nomads in Algeria in the 1910s.
