Adoration of the Magi, oil on canvas, 17th century Italian school. The Virgin, seated, is placed to the right of the painting, but she is nevertheless central, by her size, seated she is taller and by the radiance of the blue of her tunic. The child Jesus standing on his knees places his hand like a king on the forehead of one of the Magi. On the left of the painting we can see the other magi and of course a camel and all this in a setting of a Roman ruin.
Lots of finesse and grace in this painting.
Old relining, restorations.
