Girv Alfred Alexandrovich (1880-1918). "Still life with beaten game" 1913. On a thick stone table with a well-known tragedy, as on a cracked gravestone, are presented: a goblet, beaten game and fruit in a basket. The guinea fowl, ducks and hanging grapes form an almost heraldic symmetry as well as a compositional and semantic knot. The basket represents the source of all life, in the apple and the unripe green of the grapes is represented the life which has just blossomed.
