Cup with important gilding decorated with matt gold laurel leaves on shiny gold, zigzag frieze with stylized flowers, interior of the golden cup.
Soutasse with gold decoration of zigzags, acanthus leaves and stylized flowers.
Signature under the cup “Vve. Desarnaud de Paris ”.

Large and famous Parisian house, the Escalier de Cristal was founded in 1802 by Marie Jeanne Rosalie Charpentier married Desarnaud. She was born in 1775 in Châlons-sur-Marne in a family of goldsmiths.
In 1816, the Desarnaud house at the Escalier de Cristal bore the title of patented supplier to the King, the Duke of Berry and supplier of the Garde-Meuble to the Crown.
A house famous under the Restoration for its furniture and crystal objects mounted on bronze, it delivered for the Duchess of Berry, one of her loyal clients, exceptional furniture including a dressing table and a crystal armchair, now kept in the Louvre. At the Industrial Products Exhibition in 1819 at the Louvre, she would have presented this crystal and bronze dressing table and won the gold medal.
Located at 163 and 163 des Galeries du Palais-Royal, it was taken over around 1830 by Lahoche and Boin.
