    The Argonauts
Frédérique Bourguet (1925-1997) and Isabelle Ferlay (born in 1917) created the ceramic workshop "Les Argonautes" in Vallauris in 1953. Using the red earth of Vallauris, they produced large vases and zoomorphic sculptures inspired by exotic birds. In the 1960s, their production tended towards more refined forms decorated with abstract friezes on a pinkish beige background.
