Rare large solid silver vase in the Louis XVI style. It has a neoclassical shape with an ovoid profile adorned with gadroons and strings of pearls. Late 19th - early 20th century.
It bears the Minerve 1er Titre hallmark (950/1000 silver alloy) and the Louis Coignet goldsmith's hallmark, active between 1893 and 1928.
A very fine and refined piece of silverware from the 1900's, a period when ornamentalists, tired of pastiches, decided to return to forms and motifs referring to the pure XVIIIth century style, executed with the technical perfection that the means of the time allowed. Solid silver vases are rare, but generally smaller. This one is a large format (see last photos for scale).
Our vase is in very good condition, with a small deformation on the side.
