"Art Deco Aubusson rugs under the direction of Paulette Née"
High-end rugs, handcrafted.
Created by the painter Paulette Née at Aubusson.
She began her rug collection by transforming some of her paintings into handmade rugs. She immediately shifted her focus to high-end manufacturing, which remains an important principle today. My rugs are made in Nepal by a small group of companies in central Kathmandu.
Over time, she specialized in traditional, high-end hand-knotted rugs:
Hand-knotted rugs are the finest. They are woven entirely by hand.
They are very densely woven with wool (90,000 knots per square meter, with at least 3 strands of wool per knot), which makes them very durable.
Signed on the weft.
Dimensions: 200 x 140 cm
Condition: Good condition, with a gray wool line on one short side of the rug.
The rug is not on a white background, but on a cream background as in the last three photos.
