Beautiful bouquet of flowers by Oswald Poreau
Oil on panel
Oswald POREAU (1877-1955)
Is an impressionist painter from the Belgian school.
He trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in painting and architecture.
He continued his training in Paris and settled in the bohemian milieu of the capital.
Oswald Poreau, will be a great European traveler and from city to city, he will bring back various influences.
Said to be Impressionist without being affiliated with it, his works represent vaporous landscapes or port scenes which bear witness to the new industrialization. His inclination also goes towards more intimate subjects such as still life.
Very colorful, cheerful, most often with a tight framing, on a neutral and degraded background, thus allowing the viewer's gaze to be focused on the vase and the flowers.
Most of his works are owned by the royal family of Belgium; they can be seen in the museums of Schaerbeek, Temse (Belgium), Bergen and Temse.
