Jean-Michel Descamps-Carré, antique dealer and interior designer. Passionate about art since my earliest childhood, I have a classic business school course then I make a career in banking. In 2000, at the age of 38, I felt the irresistible need to exercise my passion. I take a 180 degree turn and create my antiques gallery in Lille, the Clos Palmyre. It is a success from the outset with the recognition of my peers auctioneers, gallery owners and experts who qualify me as an eye with an unusual intuition. The 2008 crisis passing through there, I closed in 2010. I continue to advise on the constitution of collections, the one-off purchase of works of art, the sharing and sale within the framework of inheritances, interior decoration and the enhancement of furniture and objects to create a living environment. harmonious. By browsing my gallery you will be able to discover a heterogeneous universe composed of art objects having in common the rarity, the originality, the quality and the authenticity. All my choices are favorites that can complement a collection as well as take place in a design and contemporary interior where past, present and future will play a harmonious symphony. I want to share and transmit. This is the spirit of Clos Palmyre. Consultant for the United States: Astrid Houze de l'Aulnoit, Chicago art advisor astridhouzedelaulnoit@gmail.com

Bathed in antiquity since my childhood, curiosity pushed me to follow in my father's footsteps. My gaze turns towards a merchandise that is both selected and heterogeneous, while having a certain preference for 19th century garden decoration. I work in collaboration with a cabinetmaker as well as an artistic ironworker in order to keep a maximum of authenticity and the functional side of the object if necessary. Through this site I invite you to discover my selection of authentic objects
