8-sided steel rave oil lamp with rooster, brass tank closing plate, olives on bracket and hook also in brass. Rave mounted on a hinged bracket. When the oil level dropped, the rave was tilted by means of this joint to consume the remaining fuel.
The most common tank shape was round, sometimes octagonal 8-sided and more rarely 16-sided.
Depending on the miner's hierarchy, ornaments were added such as:
- the number of sides 8 or 16
- knots or olives on the stirrup and hook (in iron or brass)
- corks of various shapes (in iron and brass)
- worked extensions, twists, hearts and hammers.
The cork was often topped by a rooster symbolizing "Vigilance".
In good condition, with traces of use. Diameter 13 cm, height with hook 64 cm.
