    Bust portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte signed by the artist, seen three-quarters of his way dressed in his red uniform decorated with the plaque of the Legion of Honor embroidered with an eagle and the visible mention "Fatherland" and the medal at the buttonhole, his coronation sword on the belt. He holds his right hand in his waistcoat and in his left hand carries a portrait box with two round medallions depicting the couple he forms with Josephine.

    Napoleon Bonaparte established the Legion of Honor in 1802 which, according to the decree of 22 Messidor, Year XII (1804) indicates that it is a "star with five double rays. […] The center of the star, surrounded by an oak and laurel wreath, will present, on one side, the head of the Emperor, with this legend, Napoleon Emperor of the French, and on the other, the 'French eagle, holding thunderbolt, with this legend, honor and homeland… ”
