Japanese circular bronze dish with engraved decoration of a bucolic landscape in which two ahrats and a sishi are moving, all three figured in relief and partially gilded (taka zogan technique).
At the bottom of the scene, depicted at the edge of a stream, is a sishi (Buddhist lion) with shimmering fur, head turned towards the sky. It is framed by two arhats (saints of the Buddhist pantheon) represented standing and dressed in the monastic habit. The one on the right is holding a basket (hanakago) filled with lotus flowers, head turned to the left and staring at the sishi, the one on the right is looking up and holding a bowl filled with offerings.
