Large stoneware tile from the series "L'Herbier de Provence" by the ceramicist Roger Capron (1922-2006) who worked in the Vallauris workshops in the 60s.
He used the technique of inlaying foliage in raw earth, incising the earth deeply and then firing it in the oven.
The tiles were often used to decorate coffee tables...
Unsigned piece, sold with its period fixing.
