These folk art wicker shoes, called Laptis, were worn in Russia until the 1930s by the rural population and the most modest social strata, and today can be seen accompanying traditional costumes. The shoes we offer, finely braided and embellished with a satin bow, were worn for special occasions. In generally good condition, they were probably worn very little, although one or two cuts in the length of the braiding are worth noting.
19th century.
Length 27 cm.
