In 1931, with the help of Jacqueline Apollinaire and the advice of Pierre Matisse, the twenty-five-year-old Albert Skira (the publisher) convinced Pablo Picasso to illustrate Ovid's Metamorphoses with 30 etchings.
To mark the publisher's 90th anniversary, Skira published an anastatic edition of this book. This magnificent work, so close to the original, will delight all Picasso enthusiasts and collectors of rare books.
