    This work showcases Lake Geneva through 32 superb wood engravings.
    Most of the wood engravings are signed by Charles Barbant and Ernest-Philippe Boetzel.
    They are engraved on heavy paper and framed with floral motifs.
    Format: Oblong quarto (approximately 27 x 35.5 cm)
    Complete album of all 32 plates. Some damp stains on the covers, but the interior is very clean.

    Charles Barbant, born July 15, 1844, in Paris, and died May 10, 1921, also in Paris, was a French wood engraver and illustrator who owned a large workshop in Paris. Between 1869 and 1882, he was primarily known for engraving illustrations for some of Jules Verne's masterpieces, alongside illustrators such as Léon Benett, Jules Férat, Henri de Montaut, Édouard Riou, and Georges Roux. He contributed to other works, notably those published by the Mame printing house, as an engraver for drawings by Émile Bayard, Horace Castelli, Charles Édouard Delort, Eugène Girardet, Adrien Marie, Henri Meyer, Felician Myrbach, Achille Sirouy, Osvaldo Tofani, and others. Some of his engravings appeared in periodicals such as Le Tour du monde and were sometimes based on photographs.
