Vacuum box built by the German firm Arthur Pfeiffer.
Dated between 1935 and 1950, it was sourced on the site of the former University of Liège, Val Benoît, built in the mid-1930s.
The instrument is in good condition, shows normal signs of wear. The porthole no longer has its glass.
The interior of the box is almost impeccable, has one or two cracks closed and invisible from the outside.
It is covered with a metal membrane which looks like copper but given the absence of verdigris, I lean towards zinc.
This piece was legally acquired.
Diameter 160 CM! Estimated weight 80 kg
