Nuremberg-style microscope - Chapelle model - 1750/1760

This instrument is of simple construction but nonetheless sturdy. A square base supports the stage. A plane mirror, set in a swiveling wooden mount, is attached to the center of the base. Two cardboard tubes, one sliding inside the other, are covered on the outside.
At the top are more turned wooden rings that hold the eyepiece lens and a protective cap.
The wooden specimen slide slides through the square base.
