1960s Mid-Century Modern Italian Onyx Smoking Set with Table Lighter & Ashtray

Elegant two-piece Italian smoking suite that perfectly encapsulates the glamour of 1960s Mid-Century Modern design. This striking set pairs the organic, natural beauty of carved stone with sleek, contrasting metallic accents, making it a sophisticated addition to any desk, coffee table, or bar cart. The set includes a monumental table lighter and a complementary ashtray, each utilizing distinct geometric forms and varied stone clarities to create a compelling visual dynamic. The Table Lighter: Crafted into a smooth, heavy bulbous silhouette, the lighter is carved from a richly banded onyx. The stone displays sweeping, organic veins of pale seafoam green, warm cream, and milky white. It is crowned with a classic mechanical lighter insert finished in polished silver-tone metal, offering a cool, modernist contrast to the earthiness of the stone. The Ashtray: Providing a subtle, airy counterpoint to the denser lighter, the low-profile square ashtray is carved from a highly translucent, milky-white alabaster-style onyx. It features a shallow, smoothly carved basin and is framed by a prominent gold-tone brass rim, complete with a seamlessly integrated curved cigarette rest.  This pairing effortlessly bridges the gap between sleek modernist principles and traditional Hollywood Regency luxury. The table lighter works perfectly. Made in Italy. The items are in excellent condition.
