H. 12.5; L. 3 cm
Small monoxyle wooden fetish featuring an anthropomorphic figure standing with his feet in a circular base. His hands rest on his thighs, on either side of his protruding umbilicus. His stylized face is marked by a large pair of eyes incised into tapered almonds.

Bateba figures are objects of divination, considered intermediaries between the human and spiritual worlds. They are placed in family or diviner-sculptor altars.
