A recade which is composed of a handle surmounted by a woman in a standing position with her hands around her prominent navel. She is dressed in shorts but her sex is still represented. Her hairstyle is original because on one side she wears a kind of cap and on the other side her hair is visible. Above her is sculpted a canine head from which comes out a brass rod with a crescent at the end. This is the symbol of "Shango", the god of thunder.
A very nice and simple looking recade, but much more complex than that.
Polychrome wood with patina of use, cracks.
