Noh theater mask featuring the character Fukai in carved monoxide hinoki wood.
Oval shape, high smooth forehead, half-closed eyes, high eyebrows evoking the fashion of the Heian period (794-1185), half-open mouth revealing the upper row of black lacquered teeth. Hair painted black with a median parting from which 3 garlands of locks fall.
Scissor marks on reverse, stamp and two sinograms painted yellow.
Dimensions: 22 x 14 x 6 cm.
