Padmasambhava is widely revered in all Tibetan Buddhist orders, hence his other name: Guru Rinpoche (“Precious Master”), who is credited with introducing Buddhism to Tibet,
His iconographic attributes are in evidence: The vase of abundance in his left hand and a medicinal plant in his right hand, which identify him as one of the eight medicine Buddhas, themselves represented on the front of the base.
