TOBACCO POUCH - INDIAN - GREAT LAKES
USA, 20th century
Tanned hide, beads
This flat skin bag, whose parts are sewn on three sides by skin threads, covered with white and blue beaded motifs.
The belly parts are decorated with multicolored beaded motifs; the crosses certainly illustrate the four sacred directions.
The bottom is embellished with skin fringe and a few red beads.
This bag comes from the collection of an indianist located around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
Very good condition.
