This Didagur mask was collected in the village of Govermas, located in the Blackwater region of Papua New Guinea. This type of basketry mask is traditionally used during initiation ceremonies. The mouth opening allows the wearer to see. The mask features a complex weave made of wicker, supplemented with clay and remnants of natural pigments. It is sold with a presentation base. The dimensions are approximately 67 x 28 x 86 cm and it is priced at €950, base and shipping costs included.
