Kwoma pottery used in a fertility cult linked to the yam harvest and as a ceremonial flute. The shape of this pottery is reminiscent of the yam itself, a sacred tuber. The terracotta is entirely sculpted and features designs evoking totemic plants and animals. It is played by blowing into the neck of a bottle. Engraved terracotta sold with a display stand. Approx. 15 x 5 cm / €120 including stand and shipping within Europe.
