    Aboriginal spear thrower / Woomera - Australia

    Spear thruster made from hardwood stained natural ochre. The spear-holding lugs are made of ligatured wood.
    The outer face of the thruster is stone-engraved with sinusoidal motifs covering the entire surface. The zigzag pattern evokes the river.
