Sculpture in raw wood collected in the region of the Korewori river in Papua New Guinea and called "Yipwon". Figure presented and sold mounted on a base. The Yipwon is one of the most stylized and symbolic objects of the Sepik River region. These sculptures are placed in the Haus Tambaran (house of men) and are closely related to the warrior world. Its other name, wanleg (from the English "one leg") in Pidgin English refers to all the figures of this style found in the Korewori River region. Traces of use and indigenous restoration.
