    ANTHROPOMORPHIC STATUETTE
    British Columbia, circa 1900
    Wood, pigments and iron
    H.: 24.5; L.: 8; Thickness: 16 cm
(slight old cracks and small accidents)

This figurine is made of carved wood, presented in a seated position: its removable lower limbs are held to the trunk with nails. His feet and upper limbs are missing.
It is on the face that the pigments are concentrated: red ocher for the skin, black brown for the hair sculpted in two incised braids, white for the sclera, while the pupils are manifested by iron nails.

The lack of pigmentation on the rest of the doll's body would lead us to think that the statuette was dressed in fabrics.
