    Dagger with single-edged steel blade, with finely carved horn rocket and openwork with plant motifs, scabbard, consisting of a wooden blade with chiseled silver trimmings and enlivened with foliage scrolls.

    Sewar knives have the particularity of being used during the Sewa dances of the matrilineal Minangkabau society. These ritualized combats were carried out by two or three dancers, all adorned with a sewar except one.
