This charming box, which borrows from the neo-Renaissance style so popular in the 19th century, is a beautiful bronze cast with a brown patina. Its author, the sculptor Jules Moigniez, enjoyed a great reputation which allowed him to present his works during the Universal Exhibitions of 1855 and 1878. This box, lined inside with a beautiful Empire green velvet, is signed on the back of the tab of one of the two birds.
