    Superb rectangular ormolu case, richly decorated with fine engraved foliage and foliate scrolls on all sides. The lid is adorned with a dark-brown patinated relief plate depicting a lively festive scene.

    The interior is lined with antique velvet (with traces of use). Refined French work, circa 1860-1880, typical of the Napoleon III style.
