19th-century red leather writing case. It has a handle on top with gilt initials on the lid. Inside, there is a writing surface, inkwell, document storage system, pen holders, etc. The maker's name, Carlisle & Watts, a Scottish firm circa 1850, is found inside and on the back of the case. Very fine quality workmanship in excellent condition.
