Rare Napoleon III gilt bronze and painted porcelain box, Louis XV style
Elegant ormolu casket in the Rocaille style, decorated with foliage and scrolls.
The lid is adorned with a remarkable panel of hand-painted porcelain in the Sèvres style, decorated with a delicate bouquet of flowers on a celestial blue background, enhanced by gilded fillets and ornamentation.
The interior, lined with an imitation tortoise-shell, bears witness to the care taken to create this refined piece, designed to hold jewels, souvenirs or precious objects.
Resting on four small shell feet, the quality of execution is remarkable and perfectly illustrates the Second Empire's taste for luxurious interpretations of Louis XV designs.
