This mid-20th-century dish features a bull and a bullfighter in the center.
Note the DR monogram on the bottom.
Gilbert Portanier is one of the ceramists who contributed to the revival of French ceramics from the 1950s to the present day. Established in Vallauris since 1948, he is known for the variety of his forms, which range from the classic and structured to the baroque. He is often referred to as the "Magician of Colors".
