Imposing pair of very large torchères, combining sculpted terracotta and gilded wood elements.
Each shaft rests on a quadrangular base adorned on the front with fantastical masks in Italian Renaissance relief. The richly worked decoration evokes Mannerist ornamentation, with cartouches, scrolls and chimerical figures.
The upper part is composed of a bouquet with five arms of light per torchiere, in gilded metal, with elegantly curved arms and stylized bobèches.
